Point North, Gloster Hill Self Build

After a bit of a pause, and some re-designing to get within our (hopefully) cost budget, and reigning in the Architect we’ve submitted planning. It’s been way more painful than it should have been and specifically it’s best not to mention the Quantity Surveyor who has been a complete disaster.

In hindsight and now we’ve fully understood the information he gave us, we shouldn’t have paid him, I don’t know what his game was, but it wasn’t supporting us, and has created a bit of bad feeling between ourselves and the Architect as it was him who recommended the QS. From now on, we’ll do our own costing and financial modelling.

Anyway, Planning has been submitted and validated and how all we can do is wait whilst the Northumberland County Council wheels turn – which apparently is very slowly.
