Another week of storms slowing down the ground works.
Third named storm since we started ground works. I really feel for them.
Slab was down last week, plan was to get drainage in, muck off and everything stoned up in preparation for the scaffolding (Wednesday) and the house arriving on the Friday, but then Ciaràn arrived with more rain. We’ve never seen so much rain on the east coast and inevitably it’s created problems
Scaffolding did arrive but couldn’t be put up as the stoning up wasn’t complete so that’s now sitting in the middle of the slab (see picture below)
Foul drains are in but we’ve still got problems with the storm drains and the spring water; we are unconvinced that the drainage is really working, but Ross and Marc are back on site on Monday so we’ll see

Electric ducting and Data ducting is installed as well but not certain they start or finish in the right place but at least they put the pull strings in.

Removing muck has been a problem through out the last 7 weeks, on Thursday a grab truck turned up dropped off some stone and was about to load up some muck and got a call from the yard that they couldn’t take any as the yard was flooded !
The big digger was taken off site but not before it had met its little brother and given it a good luck cuddle.

We really aren’t convinced that the site is ready for the house on Monday (tomorrow) .. we’ll be there to see …
