Massive progress by Ross and the team, but obviously not without issues. We are really beginning to think the site has an ancient curse on it !
First floor all in place, joists up and OSB covering on the roof. The Timelapse is still going ..
Wind has been the problem this week, the crane arrived on Monday and managed to lift a few panels up to the first floor but god must have had a curry and wind on Tuesday stopped any thing being lifted which has meant everything has had to be lifted by hand.

Part of the first floor includes two large glulams instead of steel. Which fortunately were lifted onto the floor boards but the team had to manhandle the 8m one into place to support the open plan kitchen, living room and dining room. Finally during the week the roof joists were installed and then on Monday the final boarding was installed.
The boring details being the joists are at 300mm, 18mm OSB boarded and sloping at 1° to the east to allow water run off.

All the joints on the OSB roof and walls are now being taped on the outside to meet our air tightness requirements.
More guests visited to see the progress and this time we had John, Becky and Sid. They all bravely climbed up to the roof for a family photo.

Now the structure is complete the house will be externally wrapped in a water proof membrane and internally in a big insulation blanket
